HMDA I (Virtual + Manual)

Regulators leverage data collected under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, as implemented by Regulation C, to not only identify that an institution is meeting the needs of the communities it serves, but also to ensure that the institution is not discriminating in its lending practices.  As such, it is critical for institutions subject to HMDA to understand the regulatory requirements for collecting and reporting HMDA data for certain dwelling secured loans.

HMDA I is an introductory, one-day seminar to introduce HMDA to those new to the rule, soon to be subject to the rule, or will refresh understanding for those that need an in-depth reminder.

During the HMDA I seminar, we will discuss the following topics:

• Coverage – Institutions and Transactions, including:
  • Definition of “dwelling”
  • Excluded transactions
• Importance of application and underwriting process
• Request for GMI
• Data required to be reported
  • Transactions that qualify for “partial exemptions”
• LAR and submission
