Consumer loans secured by residential real property that are “closed-end” are subject to more compliance requirements than any other credit transaction.
This 1-day seminar provides an overview of the rules that are specific to consumer mortgage loans (e.g., the Ability to Repay rules), as well as those that apply generally to credit transactions (e.g.¸ the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Regulation B).
The regulations will be presented in terms of timing: as the mortgage lender receives inquiries and applications and goes through the application process, until they get to closing.
